The Mahamantra is the only other thing alive in this world of dead, besides the spirit souls here.

All the traffic movement, seasons, planetary movement, growth, all the things in this material world that change, are only due to the presence of the spirit soul.

Without spiritual energy nothing can move, nothing can change. This material world of chemicals and elements is dead. It cannot do anything by itself. It requires living entities to manipulate it, use it, change it.

And living entities - spirit souls are spiritual in nature, they belong to the dynamic spiritual world. The world which is alive. Everything is alive, nothing is dead there.

But somehow they have landed in this world of the dead. Martyaloka.

And the only way back is to take help of the only other spiritual presence in this world of dead.

The Hare Krishna Mahamantra.

It is a living spiritual entity who is present in this world, other than the spirit souls, and is the only connection between the spirit souls and the spiritual world. There is no other way to escape from here, other than to take shelter of these names, which become the rocket or spaceship to fly out of here - out of this mind, into reality.

Realisations by the mercy of Vaishnavas

A lecture by Srila Gour Govind Swami Maharaj revealed to me the following truths:
1. The mind is the cause of liberation and bondage
2. The mind is awake and the soul is asleep
3. The mind is what links us to this material world
4. The soul is never trapped or bound, but it chooses to remain with the awareness of the material mind - this is the only binding factor.
5. Chanting the Mahamantra is the way to disconnect from the chaotic mind
6. Once you disconnect completely from the mind, you are free!

7. Janma karma cha me divyam - evam yo vetti tattvatah

One who knows the tattva, the science of how to descend to the material plane without becoming affected by it - is the one who never comes back to material life.

It can only be revealed by Krishna, how this is possible. Padma patram ivambhasa.

8. Jiva Krishna Das ei vishwas, korbe tohar dukha naash

The full conviction that every living entity is a servant of Krishna and is controlled by Him is the key to destruction of all miseries

9. The stupid mind is always saying enjoy - enjoy the material senses - ramanito, sleep, eat, have sex. That's all. But this perverted rasa is not to be accepted as a giver of happiness. Krishna is the embodiment of all rasas. When you engage in your eternal rasa with Him, you can be happy, otherwise not. The mind has us completely convinced that we are very happy here and are enjoying to the fullest even when old age, death and disease are causing so much anxiety. Believe the mind and stay in illusion - Maya, the matrix. Lots of people are so scared of the truth that they will gladly accept falsity and reject the truth under the banner of escapism. Cowardly persons who do not want to hear the truth can remain in Maya, in illusion, for as long as they please. One must avoid such hypocrites who support untruth.

10. Chant, train the mind, bring it under your control, and you'll be out of illusion.

But Krishna is known to elude even great sages - so never consider yourself above illusion, we are very much inclined towards being eluded.

11. Give up treating others as separate entities - see how we are all part of one person. Its like you're a finger and someone else is the neck. Now you both are part of the same body - obviously your goals, aims and interests are exactly the same. So where is the question of conflict? Or treating others differently than you would treat your own self?

Give up this enviousness of other living entities and see them as a part of your own Self.
